Tento jev, objeven\u00fd v roce 1880 Jacquesem a Pierrem Curieov\u00fdmi, spo\u010d\u00edv\u00e1 v schopnosti ur\u010dit\u00fdch krystalick\u00fdch materi\u00e1l\u016f generovat elektrick\u00e9 nap\u011bt\u00ed p\u0159i mechanick\u00e9m nam\u00e1h\u00e1n\u00ed (tlaku nebo deformaci) a naopak se deformovat p\u0159i p\u016fsoben\u00ed elektrick\u00e9ho pole.  Tento princip le\u017e\u00ed v srdci fungov\u00e1n\u00ed piezo disk\u016f a umo\u017e\u0148uje jejich \u0161irok\u00e9 vyu\u017eit\u00ed v r\u016fzn\u00fdch technologi\u00edch.<\/p>\n<h3>Krystalov\u00e1 struktura a piezoelektrick\u00fd efekt<\/h3>\n<p>Piezoelektrick\u00fd efekt je d\u016fsledkem asymetrick\u00e9 krystalov\u00e9 struktury materi\u00e1l\u016f, jako je k\u0159emen, keramika (nap\u0159. PZT &#8211; olovo-zirkoni\u010ditanov\u00fd titan\u00e1t) nebo n\u011bkter\u00e9 polymery.  V t\u011bchto materi\u00e1lech jsou kladn\u00e9 a z\u00e1porn\u00e9 n\u00e1boje distribuov\u00e1ny nerovnom\u011brn\u011b.  Mechanick\u00e9 nam\u00e1h\u00e1n\u00ed naru\u0161uje tuto rovnov\u00e1hu a vede k akumulaci n\u00e1boje na povrchu krystalu, \u010d\u00edm\u017e vznik\u00e1 elektrick\u00e9 nap\u011bt\u00ed.  Naopak, p\u0159i aplikaci elektrick\u00e9ho pole se krystal deformuje v d\u016fsledku elektrostatick\u00fdch sil p\u016fsob\u00edc\u00edch na jeho dip\u00f3ly.<\/p>\n<h3>Materi\u00e1ly pou\u017e\u00edvan\u00e9 pro piezo disky<\/h3>\n<p>Nejb\u011b\u017en\u011bji se pro v\u00fdrobu piezo disk\u016f pou\u017e\u00edv\u00e1 PZT keramika, kter\u00e1 se vyzna\u010duje vysokou piezoelektrickou konstantou a relativn\u011b n\u00edzkou cenou.
