What is the right way of cleaning big and dense items in an ultrasonic cleaner
As much as possible, big items should be completely immersed in the cleaning bath and placed in a slanting position. When items are slanted, the ultrasonic energy moves freely inside the tank, optimizing the cleaning process. Placing big items in a slanting position is specifically important when there is a single radiating surface in the tank. If it is not possible to position an item diagonally, be sure that the item and the radiating surface are at least 10cm apart. The space between the item and the vibrating wall allows the ultrasonic energy to move freely inside the tank. This effectively cleans the item and reduces the reflection. When there is too much reflection of ultrasonic energy, the energy is reduced and the radiating surface becomes worn down.
For big and heavy items that cannot be tilted or placed at least 10cm from the radiating surface, it would be best to use an ultrasonic cleaner that has at least two radiating surfaces. That is because cleaning the item using a cleaner with only one radiating surface will not be enough to thoroughly clean the item. Only the side that is facing the radiating surface will be cleaned well.
