Ultrasonic Cleaning Stages
Ultrasonic cleaning has three main stages. These are the washing, rinsing, and drying stages. In the washing stage, parts are cleaned with the help of ultrasonic waves and ultrasonic cleaning solution. The cleaning solution reaches all parts of the automotive parts and removes all contaminants. In the rinsing stage, ultrasonic waves also play an important part. Instead of on ultrasonic cleaning solution, ultrasonic waves act on water in the rinsing stage. The power of the ultrasonic waves makes the water remove all residues left from the cleaning stage. The last stage of ultrasonic cleaning process is drying. In this stage, hot air is used to remove all moisture from the automotive parts.

Proper Way of Cleaning Automotive Parts
To clean automotive parts, the parts have to be placed in the ultrasonic cleaner’s tank. Before placing them in the tank, it is a must to properly look at their shapes first. This is to know how to properly position them in the tank. Small parts can be submerged in the ultrasonic cleaning solution. For big parts that are hard to fit in the tank, they can be attached to a lift to make them dangle into the tank. Aside from making sure that the part to be cleaned can be reached by the cleaning solution, it is also a must to be sure that the part has no trapped air. Ultrasonic cleaning solution cannot get in contact with areas that have air pockets. These areas will not be properly cleaned. If you have placed the parts in the tank without being sure that there are no air pockets, turn them around to release the trapped air.
In cleaning small automotive parts, it is best to put a space between them. Use dividers to separate them. There are times when separating very small parts is hard to do. This is not really a problem in the washing stage. With the help of ultrasonic waves, the cleaning solution can reach all areas of automotive parts. In the rinsing and drying stages, however, having no spaces between parts can be a problem. It will be hard to remove residues during the rinsing stage. In the drying stage, it will be hard to thoroughly dry the areas that are attached to other automotive parts. An automatic hoist may be used to properly rinse and dry items that are positioned very near each other. The hoist must have a rotating arm that is stable. The hoist will tip the tank several times throughout the rinsing and drying stages. This rinses and dries all the parts in the tank thoroughly.
