Want to know how the ultrasonic jewelry cleaner works?
A tub with a removable basket or tray and a motor compose an ultrasonic cleaner. Basket holds the jewelry in the tub with the cleaning solution. Plug the cleaner into a standard wall outlet. Run the motor, creating ultrasonic waves in the tub. Run the cleaner for 3 to 5 minutes.
The cleaner requires tap water and special cleaning solution. Although each manufacturer has a different cleaning solution formula, generally the cleaning solutions consist of soap or ammonia.
Pour tap water or cleaning solution into the tub. Place jewelry such as rings, bracelets or necklaces into the basket or tray. The tray goes into the tub. Don’t crowd or stack the jewelry on the tray. The motor runs and produces vibrating energy waves or ultrasonic waves once the tray in place. Then, energy waves spread out in the water to create tiny bubbles which will surround the jewelry.
How It Gets the Jewelry Clean
Bubbles collide with jewelry’s surface and can get into the tiny crevices of jewelry, and knock dirt as well as grime off the jewelry. The motor will shut off after it runs its cycle. Then, weaves dissipate and the dirt settles to the bottom of the tub. If the jewelry is still not clean, pour out the dirty water, and then pour into cleaning water as well as solution.
Types of Jewelry
It is recommended to use the ultrasonic cleaner to clean gold, platinum, silver and hard stones like diamonds.
